Blake Collins joins Alturas as the Assistant Principal with over 9 years of experience in education, including roles as a 2nd-grade teacher and student-centered coach in Bonneville School District 93. Throughout his career, Blake has been a strong advocate for student-directed learning, believing that students thrive when they are actively engaged in their education. He is passionate about empowering students to take ownership of their learning, emphasizing the development of critical thinking, autonomy, and problem-solving skills. By creating an environment where students are encouraged to be active participants in their educational journey, Blake helps foster a sense of responsibility and confidence.
Blake holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Western Governors University, equipping him with the tools to support both students and staff. In his previous role as a student-centered coach, he worked closely with educators to implement effective strategies that promote academic success, teacher development, and student well-being.
Excited to join the Alturas community, Blake looks forward to embracing the school’s unique culture and working collaboratively with staff, students, and families. He is committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and dynamic learning environment and is eager to contribute to Alturas’ continued growth and success in empowering students to become leaders.
